Should Xenical be taken for attaining an attractive figure?

Some weight loss pills work as metabolism boosters, some as appetite suppressants, while others work as fat inhibitors. Some prescription fat blockers are monitored and regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are only prescribed for obesity treatment under specific conditions and in certain dosages. Fat inhibitors such as Xenical orlistat are a popular form of obesity treatment.

Orlistat, marketed under the brand name Xenical, is a popular prescription obesity treatment. A lipase-inhibitor, Xenical orlistat works in your intestine as a fat inhibitor to restrict the absorption of fat into the bloodstream, thus reducing the amount of calories gained from dietary fat in your body by about a third. This unabsorbed fat is later eliminated through bowel movements.

Xenical orlistat can only be prescribed for people having a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 or more. It can also be prescribed if you have a BMI of 27 or more along with obesity-linked health disorders such as diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol levels or high blood pressure. You must not use this drug for cosmetic purposes or to attain an attractive figure. If your BMI is less than 27 and still you take this drug, you may suffer from irreversible side effects.
